How to disable the annoying two fingers zoom?

Hi,

I bought an ubibody macbook pro 13.3". When I use firefox, the 'track pad two fingers zoom' is triggered every time I put 2 fingers accidentally.

Is there an easy way to disable it?

Thanks

Macbook pro unibody, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Well....that is how its supposed to work in theory --

I think most people will find that it is not possible to change these settings as of the last OS update -- even if you have the "Zoom while holding" box deselected, it will still zoom if you touch it with two fingers -- and indeed, when you go back to check settings, you'll find that the box has been reselected. It doesn't really matter which of the three control keys you have selected to zoom -- it zooms with all of them, or none of them.

This question has been appearing a LOT in all the forums lately -- it just appears that it isn't something you can turn off right now. See also the forum: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8704537

Speamac,

Go to your System Preferences (Apple Menu>System Preferences)...and click on Trackpad. The options for One Finger, Two Fingers, Three Fingers, and Four fingers are all right there.

In order to disable it, on the two fingers option, select the "Screen Zoom" Options, and then make sure the box for "Zoom while holding" box is NOT checked.

This option is actually quite useful if you set it right. I have mine set to say "Zoom while holding" the Control key. So if you press that button, and use two fingers, it does the zoom in/out. If i don't press anything on the keyboard and use the two finger gesture, it just scrolls up and down.

Hope this helps.

I assume you are talking about the pinch open and close movement.

You can disable it using a program called MultiClutch

http://osx.iusethis.com/app/multiclutch

1) Download and Install "MultiClutch".

2) Once you have it installed, add Safari to the Application list (it is the plus image in the lower left corner).

3) Click Safari from that list to access Safari settings.

4) Add two new rules (the plus in the lower right corner).

5) Set one to "Zoom In" and one to "Zoom Out"

6) Set a key command sequence that does nothing
