Apple FIX WIFI!!!!

good heavens, how many people complaining before Apple fixes this wifi connection problem? There is a problem. ACKNOWLEDGE IT!!! I have already had to have one phone replaced and now the second is having wifi issues. No, it is not me, read the posts and search the internet. People are having problems. I am so ready to get a Blackberry. It has wifi and you aren't forced to take a $30 monthly package. Would I recommend Iphone, NO!

Report your problem through feedback, not here. I did that and an extended dialog began with Apple asking for more detailed information on the problem. I provided everything I could. I had the distinct impression they are a bit baffled by the problem, but they did acknowledge (to me) the problem is real. They just have not figured it out yet. Once they do figure it out, I am sure an extended QA process begins before a fix will be released.

My wifi works, but not nearly as well as my 3G (or 2G for that matter). Patiently waiting, just like everyone else.

Apple never acknowledges problems while they are working on them. It is unreasonable to expect that.

and you do not have to have a $30 package for blackberry if you are NOT (sorry left that out in the previous post)going to be accessing the internet. When wifi worked, I only used Edge to access the internet less than 1% of the time. All locations that I was at, had wifi. I am not ranting at the users here. It is just amazing to me that so many people are having problems and Apple doesn't even seem to be concerned.

There have been people posting here with WiFi problems since the release of the original iPhone. Apple works on the problems they can fix, as already cited with an excellent post in this thread, many of the WiFi problems posted here involve router problems, mismatches, security, etc. And there are far many more people who are not having a WiFi issue than those that are which makes it a lot more difficult to diagnose the problem.

Sorry, but: NO, this wasn't a good summary at all!

Since 3.0 tens of thousands of people worldwide suffer serious problems with WIFI connectivity. Problems, they did not suffer before.

In Apple.com Discussions hundreds of users are claiming no more WIFI connectivity since the 3.0 update - all of these did not have any problems at all while having installed 2.x. I personally know 22 iPhone users, and 6 of them have now problems from "sometimes no connectivity" over "lower connectivity" to "no more connectivity at all". This is more than a quarter!

They are all working in the same company WIFI network (which has no problem at all with more than 100 WIFI-connected macbooks!), they all did not change their home networks, but they have the problems at both places.

Even my workaround I posted in other threads is only helping for some time till it drops out again and I have to do the whole procedure again to get connectivity for some days.

So the real summary is:

"Since 3.0 there is a very serious problem with WIFI connectivity, where tens of thousands iPhone users are affected by. We all hope, that Apple is working on that problem with all means possible including extra staff and extra shifts, giving us a problem-resolving update in early august (latest!). Because this problem ruins big parts of the iPhone experience and of the productivity of users working with that otherwise fantastic phone."

You polled tens of thousands of people or are you just pulling a number out of the hat? If the numbers were as high as you claim, it would be making mainstream news and it is not which says the percentage of people with a wifi issue is fairly small out of the 15 million+ iPhones out there.

A lot of people claiming a problem want to blame the phone because they simply do not understand technology or how routers work.

I am confident Apple will fix the problem. Perhaps not as quickly as some would like. It works now, just somewhat degraded. If the OP has a suggestion, post it in Feedback. Might also want to include their resume also. The iPhone has to be one of the most complex consumer devices ever invented (for the money). It is hard stuff.

if you actually researched you would find out that the problem is not with people not understanding routers etc but it is with the phone no longer being able to find ANY wifi connections... and who cares if it isn't tens of thousands of people experiencing this problem, the fact remains that the problem still exists and it is actually unacceptable that apple has sold so many devices that malfunction like this making them pretty much only 50% useful than they should be...I hope you experience this same problem because the frustrating thing is that it it just begins at different times for different peoples phones and is not spurred on by anything in particular... some people have gotten it from a 2.2 update and others after 3.0...apple should fix their rubbish and soon this problem will be making news...it has already been mentioned on many other tech sites and have a look at this forum at how many of the posts are focusing around this problem...

To those of you who's wifi is working great. I am glad that it is. But to those of us that wifi isn't working it is a problem. and by just viewing this board, alot of people are having a problem. I bought my phone in february 2009. in april i had to exchange it because it would freeze up and had no sound. not i am looking at either driving a 200 mile round trip to the closest repair center or having a 4 day dealing through the mail. yes my phone works as a phone, so i will not be inconvenienced as much as when I had no sound, but it is the fact of having to do warranty work every few months. Everyone has their opinions and they should be respected. as I said those of you who's phones are working great, but don't make those of us who are truely having problems feel like we don't know what we are doing or stupid. The majority of posts, the phones seem to have just quit on wifi. the owners did not change anything on their routers, the wifi just quit. My phone worked fine on wifi till just a few days ago, then all of sudden it quit. I did not change settings on the router or on my phone. from reading posts here and on other iphone sites, this appears to be the problem. Please don't dish those of us who are truely having a problem. we are frustrated that we spent $200 or more for something that will not work like it is supposed to.
