EDIROL UA-25 doesn't show in sound system preferences

Check cabling and/or power. Try different USB ports.

I've got the same problem. My Mac has just had extensive repair work - a new CD drive, logic board and top casing plus I did the 10.5.7 combo install this morning. The Edirol has worked for the past 3 years no problem and worked 2 months ago with this computer, but will not show up as of today in Sound Prefs, Audio/Midi Set-up or Logic...

Time is running out for me to get an audio project done and I've been trying different stuff all day - including a new driver for use in advanced mode, permissions repair, changing usb ports, going through a powered hub, changing usb cable...Help! Is is possible that it does not work with 10.5.7?

Does the Edirol show up in Audio/MIDI set up? Is it available as an option in Logic's Audio Preferences > Device?

If not, try to install the software once more.

Also, are you using something other than 44.1 or 48 kHz sampling rate? Apparently anything more won't work:

I've played around with sampling rate and left it at 44.1...

I have already reinstalled software twice - although I no longer have the original CDs. This has always been a plug and play device - drivers are only needed in advanced mode...

What a shame - another day wasted 😟

My MAC also had extensive repair work & edirol ua25 doesn't show up in Sound System preferences. Can't find original disc to reinstall it.
I'd planned to record audios all day today to meet deadlines.
Would genius bar appointment be a wise move? Any other ideas?

Could do - I don't have time sadly. I found the original disc but if it's any comfort - no good. When trying an install it says " can't install - you already have a newer version of this software on your computer" or words to that effect. All that is on the disc is the driver for advance mode which is available to download here anyway: http://www.roland.com/products/en/_support/dld.cfm?PRODUCT=UA-25

If you haven't already, try that. Really disappointed as I now have no way to record this stuff and am going on a trip for 5 months without this possibility unless I buy something else in Bangkok...

I had the same problem,
install edirol drivers,
put microswitch at the back of ua-25 in advance position,
reconnect usb cable

worked for me...
