Pleeeease Help. GarageBand with Line 6 UX2 device

I am new to the world of recording music through garageband. I picked up a USB device made by Line 6. It is their UX2. I have installed all the software and "plugins" that came with the device, I have updated everything using the Line 6 Monkey. I can see that the UX2 picks up sound from the mic I have attached to it, I have set GarageBand to use the UX2 as input and output, as well as the system preferences>audio has been set to use the UX2. So I can tell that the mac is seeing the device. In garageband I have the "voice" track set to pick up from the UX2 stereo 3/4.

I record no sound in GarageBand.

Also, the Pod Farm application shows that sound is detected. But I just can't get it into GarageBand.

I'm hoping that someone in these forums uses a product by Line 6 and can help me figure this out. I have searched and searched on their website for help on this and have found very little that makes sense to a novice like myself. The product did not even come with any form of instructions. What I can find online is, again, like reading greek for this novice.

If anyone could please help me I would be SOOO appreciative. This is a birthday present for my wife who has been wanting to record herself singing and playing the guitar.
