iTunes account from Serbia

Hello,

This is my first post here, so I would like to offer everyone my greetings and basically say hi, and thank you to Apple and its founders Steve and Woz. 🙂

Since I live in country were even God said goodbye one day and left, leaving the light on, I can still pretty much see what is going on in the world today. I am an Apple fan since 2000, I have first iTunes ever published for PC in my Install folder on HD. I got it, installed it, and I have been using it ever since. From than I have spread the word, and program, to friends and their PC. Few of them were the first time computer users, and when I show them iTunes and Winamp. Since people here use it, on PCs 99% of them does. Boy did they hated Winamp after my short presentation, that's all I'm going to say. 🙂
Take in consideration that English is not native language, and by tgat the "victory" was even more meaningful. Just shows how iTunes is built logically, so that even non-computer savvy people can use it.

Today, after 6 years of using it (starting in 2003.) I think its time I get a chance to register my first and only iTunes account.
I know I cant do it, since Serbia is not in the country list, but I am humbly requesting you (administrators, moderators, sales persons, Steve himself) that you enable a possibility for me.

I am registered Apple Developer Connection user, and have my Apple ID (well its obvious, I couldn't use the forum otherwise) I tried to register last night, even my credit card got processed. I was charged with one euro (1€), but it was refused since the bank statement and records imputed mismatch. So that means you can charge me for my purchases with no problem. Card is from Raiffeisen Belgrade a.d., but its German bank (www.raiffeisenbank.rs).

I've entered LucasArt SanFrancisco office data for address, phone and zip, as a lark, since I can't select Serbia in country list. 🙂

Once again, please, I would like to be registered as an iTunes user and have my iTunes Store Account.

If there is any possibility for crating Serbia iTunes Store I would love to help out in any way. We have Serbian Macintosh User Group, and a small (considering other countries) but great group of users that truly respect Apple and use Macs, some of them, even since Apple II.

Shame on you Apple!

I tried to enable two factor authentication and there is no Serbian dial international number. Come on PEOPLE!!! We still do not have ITunes store. SHAME ON YOU!! What are you waiting for God sake!

We have 3 mobile operators that are selling you devices for more than 18 months. Cannot believe that, with all respect, some smaller African counties are fully supported, Serbia IS NOT?

My question is when will Serbia got store on ITunes and when will two factor authentication will be possible from Serbia.?

I think the problem is / was with our National Bank. Their regulations date back from the stone age, which were stopping point for many of services (including PayPal). Since public pressed them for PayPal, they seem to changed some rules. Maybe Apple is not in the loop with changes and that they probably can start business in Serbia, like others.

Carriers signed to sell their devices to us last year, but it's funny when you ask them how to make account for Serbia; they tell you to make Croatian account, violating Apple regulations. Instead to help us to arrange progress and negotiation between Apple and our National Bank, they are just interested in selling their terrible post paid packs with devices. Shame on them too!

Hopefully, this will change soon. There is no reason anymore not to have Serbian store.

I doubt there is any problem with serbian banks or laws, as all three mobile operators that officially sells Apple iPhones, officially advice us to lie and to create an account on another country, Croatia, with our serbian credit cards issued in Serbia, and then people in Serbia buy apps using that cards in croatian (a different country) app store without a problem and money is being taken from their serbian bank accounts. So it works. It is only up to Apple to admit that Serbia actually exists on a world map as a country where Apple legally sells its products. Why Apple is avoiding to do this??

Hello everybody,

We now have a more serious issue, the Croatian Store, that most of the people in Serbia uses, is now switching to their own currency Croatian Kunas, and will no longer be available in Euros! This will be a big conversion challenge for all the users (calculation and cost vise).

Is there any indication that this will be solved in the near future?

Also, it would be very nice to receive an official Apple answer....

Hi guys!

I've just read this post and become excited about a thought that maybe Serbia will get its own iTunes store. I'm iPhone developer and big Apple fan as a lot of my friends and other guys from Apple dedicated sites and forums in Serbia. It would be really nice to see my iPhone filled up with apps from App Store.

I honestly support this small impulse of initiative for making dreams of many Apple fans in Serbia come TRUE ( or YES as you guys like to say in Objective-C 🙂 )

Some rumours are flying around that it may happen in December 2010 or early January / February 2011. Serbia definitely deserves iTunes store, there are more than 4 authorised Apple distributors in Belgrade and many, many people using Apple products. I am not jailbreaking my iPhone and iPad, using Greek iTunes store (friends from there are sending me iTunes gift cards) but I hope people at Apple push it up a little bit so we finally get our own Serbian iTunes store.

Pozdrav za srpske Mac manijake ovde 🙂

Greetings from Belgrade
