How long does it take to re-install FCS2?

I'm asking because I don't want to have to leave in the middle of installation.

Also, is it bad to leave in the middle of installation. Let's say I make it through half the discs and the I have to go. Is that a bad idea?

Thank you and I can't wait to re-install for the second time in about a year in a half! Guess that's not so bad, huh?

Take care,

Thanks, John!

I'm not really looking to learn much about FCS2 since I already know how to use it. I was just hoping to save some time by finding one tiny answer instead of swimming through the whole entire internet. I'm just wondering if it's bad to leave your system unattended in the middle of installation.

Thanks for the tip though!

Take care,

Trey

Odd.

These are the ideas I have:

1. Your sign says your running on 10.5.2 - upgrading to 10.5.7 might help
2. There have been some updates to Apples pro apps (which include the FC suite) - it would make sense to update (if you haven't done so) via Software Update
3. Repair permissions sometimes solves funnies

Hope that helps

You do it in Disk Utility (in your Applications, Utilities folder). Insert the FC disk, but close the installer if it opens. Open Disk Utility, and choose File, New, Disk Image from Device, and pick the disk you want.

You then end up with a .dmg file (one for each of the FC disks), from which you can reinstall more quickly. Not to mention being useful backups in case the install disks get damaged.
