Using iPhone as disk drive

I am new to the iPhone world and used my iPod as a storage drive. How do I do that with my new 32G iPhone? I was mislead by the ATT sales person saying that I could do that, but now find out I can't without 'jailbreaking' my phone--without even knowing what that is, it's too scary for me. Any ideas?

iPhone 3GS, iPhone OS 3.0

While the iPhone can not do this natively, there are applications available that provide this feature, interfacing via WiFi. I personally use AirSharing and it works very well.

You definitely can do it without jailbreaking. I use the Air Sharing app which is available on the App Store and really like it.

DiskAid works well for me .. but I'm sure it's not the only option which is good.

Another excellent product to try is Readdle Docs. They can be found at: http://readdle.com/ - you can do Mac/PC to iPhone file transfers or use a fee 500GB storage portal which they provide for accessing documents via the internet. A very solid and complete solution in my opinion...
