Cant get Ipod into DFU or Recovery!

So I have this jailbroken Ipod ver 3.0 and I downloaded this app, i can't really remember what it was for but the the install did work right and something happened because when it said restart springboard the ipod froze. So i turned it off all the way and tried to turn it back on. Everything is fine at this point, it shows the apple logo and then it starts to show the loading icon, but after 3 seconds of loading the ipod freezes . and i tried putting it into DFU mode and it just would not work it just turns off and the computer cant recongize it and recovery just isnt possible. So does anyone have any clue on what i can do?
Please help
Oh and its a 2 gen Ipod touch.

You could try to send it in to apple, and they could either repair it or send you a replacement iPod. If you do manage to get it to the Home screen and problems still arise, you could go to Settings, then reset everything. (This can delete all your media and will take around an hour. It is more effective then just resetting the settings.) I recommend sending it in, however.
