Where is live type?

Apple dropped LiveType from the new FCS package since Motion will do it all and more. However, if you have an older version of LiveType that's compatible with your OS and processor type (PPC vs Intel), it will still work.

I have just found out Livetype is not in the new package.
All my title font's can't be manipulated in Motion. I know Motion is great but I have around 6 years of Livetype titles and lower 3rd's I use that are now useless.
If anyone has a "get-round" to use these I would appreciate it.
I'm not in the mood to re-created hundred's of Livetype screens.

There's nothing preventing you from continuing to use your current copy of Livetype.
It will not stop working if you install it alongside FCS3.

I was wondering where LiveType was too. I just ordered FCS3 (haven't received it yet) and was puzzled by no mention of LiveType, and I had this sinking feeling . . .

It's not as big of a deal because I don't have a lot of LiveType projects saved up, but still, I enjoyed LiveType. Ah well, as has been said, there's nothing stopping me from using the copy I already have.

I wonder if LiveType will be packaged with the new version of Final Cut Express? Not that it does any good to speculate here . . . I was just thinking out loud.

I have Live Type v 1.0 From Studio 1. It installs but does not appear. I want to install in as you recommend . I was running it on a MBP with intel chip

Does your version of Studio 1 come with FCP 5.0 or FCP 5.1?

Studio 1 with FCP 5.1 was the first version that is Intel Compatible.
The Studio 1/FCP5.0 release is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, whether Power PC or Intel.

Thanks. I did have FCP 5.1 and the updated OS X. I purchased in March of 2006. I'm wondering if updates to Live Type would make it work with Studio 3

I'm not happy either. Apples hasn't said anything official about LiveType either. You'd think they'd put a read me file explaining their rational.
