How to apply fast forward and reverse effects in iMovie '09

Just wondering if anyone knows how to make video go in slow motion or speed up a clip on the new imovie. I can't figure it out... Help.

15 inch Macbook Pro 2.53 ghz and 24 inch iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.7), 32GB iPod Video and 8GB iPod Touch

Drag the clip from your event to the Project Window. In the Project, click on the Inspector button in the clip to open the inspector. Go to the CLIP tab in the inspector. There you can set the speed effect.

Now this is an answer that I wanted to hear. Thank you Appleman. Is this the only way and is it a new feature on imovie '09 because I couldn't find one on imovie '08...?

In iMovie 08, you would have to use an external tool like JES Deinterlacer. It worked but you have to know what you are doing. iMovie 09 makes it simple.

hi sorry to interrupt but i can't get my project to work. i'm also trying to speed up a clip but my computer wont let me. I've looked everywhere but i just can't seem to find the inspector button. can anyone help me. please?

Gang,
I have the latest and greatest iMovie - 8.0.4
I am running 10.5.8 OS and quicktime 7.6.2

the rabbit and Turtle speed control Inspector Window is not showing up...

what I am doing wrong.

If your source footage is h.264 or some other highly compressed format, the speed setting will not work until you convert to an intermediate codec that has all the frames.

If your speed setting are not there, look for a button that says "convert entire clip" and press it. Wait for the conversion, and then you should see the speed controls.
