iCal Edit popup window is solid black

iCal Edit popup window is solid black

I open up iCal and try to post my upcoming work schedule to sync with my iPhone. I try to make an entry, and when I do the popup edit window is black with no entry fields visible until I click on them. I looked up pictures and it is supposed to be a brushed metal theme. My theme must be "obscure" because I can't see what I'm doing. If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it!

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.7), 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Welcome to Apple Discussions.

One of the first things to try is "refresh" the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the .plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior

I saw you post this on someone else's question. I moved the file to my desktop and I assumed you meant restart the computer, so I did to no avail. Was that not the right move?

That was what I meant when I said "restart."

Since that did not work for you, and if you used Software Update to install 10.5.7, I would recommend that you download and reinstall the Mac OS X 10.5.7 Combo Update.

I have the exact same problem as Grizwalker.

I also tried refreshing the .plist to no avail ...

Other user accounts also show the same "black window" behaviour, so this does not seem to be a user configuration issue.
