Using a Japanese Mac Mini in the UK

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this...

I bought a Mac Mini and cinema display in Japan and recently moved to England. Will it work with a standard travel adapter or do I need to buy a power transformer?

Worried about frying my mac 😟

You need to look at the power supply for the mini and on one of it's side the voltage should be listed. It is in light gray print so a bright light and a keen eye are required. The voltage of that power supply must say 100-240 V 50/60 Hz for use in the UK. If it does not say that head to a apple store or call them and get a new power supply. I accidently fried a radio in Germany when I didn't check the voltage in on a connector. It was an expensive radio. It is better to be safe then sorry.

Lets not confuse volts (V) and watts (W). My power adapter in marked 100 - 120 V, and 110 W.

There is another thread that many users in Europe are stating their adapters are also marked 100 - 120V, but seem to work correctly on 220V. It APPEARS that all Mini adapters were marked 100 - 120V, but in reality are 100 - 240V. DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT! If I were to travel out of North America with this Mini I would want to check with a local Apple Store before plugging in.

To continue from my earlier post:
I don't want to put out bum info. The other thread that addresses this concern seems to indicate that power adapters purchased in Europe are marked 100 - 240V, while North American adapters are marked 100 - 110V. Many users who purchased their Minis in the U.S. have carried them throughout the world and haven't had any problems. Still wish Apple would make a statement to the fact the North American version is in reality a "world" version.
