Reflecmedia - I'm surprised this didn't come up in a search here...

A client (and great friend) I work for is thinking about investing in the Reflecmedia screen and RingLite.

A one minute video demo is here is you're never heard of it... http://www.reflecmedia.com/video/products/demo.htm

I've personally used this contraption once and was basically blown away compared any other ametuer GreenScreening I've ever done.

I want to know if anyone recommends Reflecmedia? Is there an equivalent to these products that are cheaper but just as effective?

Thanks for your time!

Yes, dimly lit scenes and reflective objects won't be a beautiful thing. More Pros than Cons for, but yes there are cons. I will show him that article, thanks so much!

For me personally, just shooting amateur skits with friends, I have more issues with the green screen bouncing back on the subjects, so this would work wonders. From a Pro Production point of view, the Green/Blue LEDS filling in shadows on creatively lit scenes is a pretty big con.

Small rooms and dimly lit scenes can be Reflecmedia's strong point. You can be right next to the screen and not have any spill. In a candlelit scene you may get a tad bit of spill from the front, but it cleans up easy with Final Cut Pro's Spill Suppressor. There is some HDV sample footage that you can download and test out online along with a video showing how it works with FCP. The footage and tutorial are in this article http://www.dvcreators.net/chroma-key-in-hd/
