Copying music from iPod to iTunes?

Question

Copying music from iPod to iTunes?

since backing up my iTunes, i downloaded an album that i did not back up

it exists now only on my iPod, and i have since purchased a new computer and erased my old iTunes.

How can i get this music album copied into my new iTunes from my ipod?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

When you connect your iPod to sync it, you will be prompted that you have music on your iPod that's not in your library, and you can choose to transfer the music. Alternatively, use the iTunes > File menu > Transfer Purchases From option with the iPod connected.

didn't get the screen asking if I wanted to transfer from ipod to iTunes. only got the button telling me it will delete all on ipod and sync with itunes.
