Hi

There are 2 ways to get a MIDI file into Logic:

A) File:Import (or drag and drop from the Finder, use the Browser, etc).
This imports all the basic MIDI events, but ignores tempo, time signature and such,

B) File:Open

This creates a new project with all the tempo data.

To import this tempo data into an existing project, copy the tempo events from the tempo list in the 'MIDI' project, and paste into your project.
