External HD Password Protect...

I just got a 2.0 USB mini external HD 15 gig... Is there any way to password protect that drive so no one else can access it?

Also, is there a way to password protect folders in your HD as well?

The best way I know of to create password protected files is by making encrypted disk images.

Anyway I can put a password on my external 2.0 USB drive. I need to use it for both mac and PC....
