I try to use evernote for a while, but I don't like it, that's why I delete it, but after I use AppZapper to trash it, the Evernote icon still appear on my tool bar, anyone know how to get rid of it? Thanks.
Actually before I uninstall it, the Evernote icon keep appear on my tool bar even I delete it on manage tool bar, after I restart safari 4, it come out again and again and again ><
after uninstall Evernote, still the same ><
You'll need to reinstall Evernote first. If you don't have the file, get another via the Evernote download page.
When installed in the Applications folder, open Evernote. Then, go to the Evernote Menu and open Preferences. In the Clipping panel, uncheck the Safari option. Close Evernote.
Restart Safari. The icon ought to be gone.
To remove Evernote completely from your system, via the Finder, drag Evernote from the Applications folder to your trash. Also, in your User Account>Library>Applications Support, drag the Evernote folder to the trash. Finally, in Your User Account>Library>Preferences folder, trash the
com.evernote.Evernote.plist file.
I did what you said and everything was removed except a shell of Evernote and a contents folder. I get too messages. One says Evernotehelper is in use and the other says that ILCrashReporter is in use. Therefore the items can not be removed from trash...Help!?
Hi guys!
I was just wondering . . .
If you go to System Preferences, Accounts, Your Account, Other (down at the bottom)
is Evernote there? If so, you could select it, and click the minus sign. Also check in
Your Account>log in items. Is it there, too?
I just ran into this myself. If you open a terminal window, you can run "ps -e | grep -i evernote" to see the process ID of the evernotehelper process. Then, you can "kill -9 ###" to kill the process. That should make the icon vanish, and you'll be able to empty the trash.
I can't delete the program at all, I've gone to finder, applications, and deleted, library and deleted, and I still keep getting a "dmg" that asks me to drag it over to applications. Can anyone help me delete this program. I don't want it on my computer.
Thank you
Go to Evernote Preferences, General, uncheck show elephant in menubar - this will remove the elephant icon from the menu bar on your computer. I am trying to find a good way to unistall Evernote.

Now I know why an elephant never forgets: it keeps reminding itself of things every microsecond!
In addition to the Application Support and Preferences you must go to Internet Plug-ins and trash the Evernote plug-on. That will definitely remove it from your menu bar
Hey guys i was having this exact same problem this morning.
What I did was go into the trash where i put whatever remains of evernote i could find. like you guys all said i couldn't empty my trash completely. so what i did was right click on each of them and click 'show contents of folder.' I moved everything I could find of those contents into the trash. I found evernotehelper and moved it onto my desktop. (It looks like a paper with tools and a white stop sign over it.) From there I moved it onto my dock. Then I right clicked it and saw that that the option to 'open at login' was checked. I figured that was the problem so I unchecked it, then restarted my computer. Then I was able to finally move evernotehelper into my trash, tried to delete all the contents.
I hope this was clear enough to help you guys fix your problem if it was the same as mine. Good luck!
I had the same problem trying to remove the icon and have just done it! Click on the icon, when it opens press control click, a menu appears with option to remove icon. Job done, but I'm sure there will be something lurking somewhere invisible.
