iTunes store on iphone not working

I know this is a Mac forum but there is not an iphone one so thought I would post here. Anyway anyone with an iphone go to the itunes store and all of a sudden you cannot purchase/preview or rent movies and music videos. TV shows are fine and work as normal but films and music videos now cannot be accessed. This is not just on my iphone as i have spoke with a senior advisor in Applecare and it's the same for him and has no idea. This is also the same on USA account so it seems worldwide. surely someone knows whats going on as it must be costing Apple millions in lost fees

Have just been in contact with apple care helpline,the agent was very helpful but did not know of this problem till i directed him to the forum and he then consulted his tech department who advised they are aware of the problem,something went wrong somewhere at the weekend and the people responsible for the itunes app on the iphone are currently working on it but can give no indication when it will be resolved,just a case of waiting and keep trying to preview and buy,i asked why nothing has been posted anywhere to acknowledge the problem and i was assured this would now bee done and all agents on apple care would be advised of the problem for future callers,so watch this space
