Safari opens headers of 'yahoo mail', but no text

Prob. 1 When I access my yahoo acc in Safari, the headers - from, to, subject etc,- opens, but the text of the message is missing.
Prob. 2. When I open them using Firefox, the complete message is there, but firefox only opens 2 or 3 before freezing. To overcome this I must close and quit F.fox and relaunch it

If you're really still using Mac OS X 10.3, then I'd say that's the problem. Safari has progressed so much since then, and web developers ae using newer versions of JavaScript that it's not compatible with. You should upgrade to at least Mac OS X 10.4 while it's still available; then you can use Safari 3.x.x or Safari 4.0.2.

If you don't want to do that, then your best choice is to download Camino, which is compatible with Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher. Firefox 2.x is no longer updated or maintained, and Safari 3.5.x requires at least Mac OS X 10.4.x to run.

There is no mention of 10.4 or later in my software update file!

That's because 10.4 is a paid upgrade (approx. $130); you must buy a new retail box of 10.4 to install it, and I'd max your RAM before doing that, since you'll need it to make it run with any decent speed. You can get it here: http://www.fadfusion.com/selection.php?productitemnumber=10266204129

You should get it before they run out and the price goes up dramatically. Apple no longer produces it or sells it to retailers. And you really do need DSL or cable Internet service if you can get it.
