On the apple website, under downloads, there are new applications macs.... i try and download them, but they dont work on my mac book pro. Later i realized that it doesnt work because its only for leopard. is there a way i can download it even though i have tiger?
If an application is only compatible with Leopard, then you cannot use it with Tiger. But you can upgrade a MacBook Pro to Leopard by purchasing the Leopard retail package from Apple.
You should always check the system requirements for any software to be sure it will be compatible with your hardware and operating system.
If you click on the app name, instead of Download, you will go to another page that gives more details about the app & the OS requirements. If the app says Leopard 10.5, click on the Company Name & this will take you to the company's web site. There they may have an earlier version that will run on Tiger.
