Apple TV does not appear in iTunes "Devices"
Thank you in advance for any assistance.
I have what seems to be a common problem, but I have been unable to find a solution. My AppleTV does not appear in "Devices" on my iTunes. Some points for consideration:
-about 2 weeks ago I performed an archive and install of my macbook pro. this seems to be when the problem started.
-i have mac OS X 10.4.11
-iTunes 8.2.1 (6)
-Apple TV software version 2.4
-my wife also has a macbook with iTunes. If we ask the Apple TV to connect to another shared library, the Apple TV then appears in the "Devices" area of her iTunes. But not mine.
-I have confirmed the the Apple TV is on the right network and that my computer is as well
-i have rebooted my router (Apple Extreme), the modem and the Apple TV
-I have reset (though not a factory reset) the Apple TV
-i am able to connect to the Apple Store from the Apple TV
-my iTunes library resides on an external hard drive, a 1TB MyBookWorld. My music library is 160gb, so I am hoping that a solution here does not include anything that requires my to re-sync or reset the library as this takes days (no exaggeration).
