Spinning beach ball when I print

Hi there!
I have this big issue. It's on my dad's old e-mac G4 running tiger. In any application whenever I print, I get a spinning beach-ball of death and the application locks up. Weather it be text edit, word or even safari. Though when I print from my Mbp Wirelessly, well it works... so I'm finding this a little strange. The printer is plugged into the eMac

Any help?
Thanks in advance,
Chuck

Hi Chuck,

At this point I think you should get Applejack...

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...

applejack AUTO

Then let it do all 5 of it's things.

At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.

The 5 things it does are...

Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.

If that doesn't do it, Might try these two...

Mac OS X: About the Reset Printing System feature ...

Might try Printer Setup Repair 5.1...
