It totally doesn't matter if it has been filed or not. First, if everyone thinks that it has already been filed because it's so obvious, then it will never be filed. Second, bugs are fixed by priority. And priority is partly determined by how many bug reports they receive. So, please report it.

exactly Jazz, and if you file it and they already have a report, they will mark it as a duplicate, and give you the ID of the duplicate report, which means you can then find out what the status of that bug is.

So quit complaining and do something, don't ask me what ifs, it's ridiculous how much people love to come on this forum, tick off everyone by complaining, and refuse to do something simple that takes all of 5 minutes. We're not tech support, we're here to help each other get past issues, if something crashes, we can't help. How hard is that to understand?

Also quit posting about how you think Apple's way of doing business is not the way you like it. Use something else, move on, they've done business like this for years, they have their reason, we can choose to use them or not. period.
