3.01 update - Universal Dock problem

Just upgraded my 3GS to 3.01

I've had a few random lockups which seem to be sorted out now, but the most annoying thing is when I put my iPhone into my universal dock. Previously everything was fine, now it comes up with an error message saying that the accessory is not supported by iPhone and would I like to switch to airplane mode.

Its incredibly frustrating - please fix this Apple!

Or you can use something like the product in the following link...it converts the FireWire voltage into USB voltage.

Also, if it's in a dock, you can use the following kind of item to extend it so you can lie your iPhone next to the dock instead of being stuck up and out of the dock...

Had 2 universal docks and none of them works properly (flawlessly). In my opinion waste of money unless they carry the "Works With Iphone" logo which is guaranteed to meet Apple Hardware specifications and standard. Now it is on my christmas present list 🙂

The first doc keeping getting error 68, it works if you ignore it but I noticed it is slow. The second one, just too slow. Once I connect the Iphone with an Apple cable it is blazingly fast.

With universal stuff it is hit and miss. Not worth the saving and the aggravation.

I don't THINK it's firewire-- it's a USB connection into the back of the Home Theater System and I don't see the term "firewire" anywhere. (Whould I?)

And the documentation that came with the HTS all says "Works with Iphone."

Somebody suggested that Apple had made a firmware update or a hardware modification to their universal standard. (What's that quote? "That's the great thing about standards, there's so many of them 🙂 ) But that seems like a silly thing to do.
