time capsule disassembly torx/screw drivers

im curious does anyone know what type of torx or screwdriver is needed to remove the screws off the drive to put on a new larger drive?

my tc is out of warranty and a refurb and the drive itself has been acting up and i need much larger capacity anyway...

anybody please?

The earlier versions use ten (10) Phillips #0 screws to secure the bottom of the unit. I believe the hard drive is held in by a bracket that also employs Phillips-type screws. I would venture to guess the new 2 TB model would have the same.

i already have it sitting here open.

i bought a pack of Torx and a bunch of Phillips and nothing seems to work.
its a dual band 500gb model.

i have torx t4's - torx t8's
phillips 00 and up.

im not sure if theyre wingnut screws or what now....?

Hmm, sorry, I don't have one handy that I can open and confirm what you are seeing. I use the Olympia Tools Security Bit Set that I got from Northern Tool. I have yet to find a screw that I couldn't undo with them. You may have to shop around to find them as it appears that Northern Tool no longer stocks these.
