SMART data information - Retracts, Poweron hours: What does it all mean?

Will someone please explain to me what each piece of information means?

I just now figured out how to access the hidden system menu on my iPods and it's really cool. I assume Poweron Hours for the hard drive means the amount of time spent reading from the disk, right? What about retracts and stops though? Thanks.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.7), Boot Camp /w Vista Ultimate
