If I have a Iphone which is managed through exchange and if I forget my passcode I have few questions on how to get into the phone.
a) If a phone gets restored on a phone which was not used to sync the phone originally all the data will be lost . Is that true !!
b) If a phone gets restored to a pc which was used to sync it I can backup it up before I restore it.

Can anyone please provide knowledge base article from apple regarding this.

IMAC, Windows XP

In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred to the iPhone via the iTunes sync process from a single computer only. When syncing iTunes content and transferring photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred to the iPhone from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first.

This link provides the data included with the iPhone's backup.

The backup for an iPhone can be created with iTunes on a computer that the iPhone has never been synced with and can be done without syncing. With the iPhone connected to iTunes and without syncing, control-click on the iPhone in the iTunes source list and at the menu window that appears, select Back Up.

The iPhone's backup does not include iTunes content including 3rd party apps, and it doesn't include photos that were transferred to the iPhone via the iTunes sync process.

So iPhone is connected to a different pc which was not used to sync it orginally will all the data will be erased and will I get the option to back it up.
if a user doesn't know the password for their device only way to do it is to restore the iPhone.
But if the Iphone is locked will iTunes will be able to restore the device.

No. The backup for the iPhone must be created first in this situation - copied from my previous post.

Correct. I'm not sure how someone can forget the iPhone's passcode which must be entered twice when enabling the passcode lock feature, and if they don't know their passcode, they can't access their iPhone either. Unbelievable.

But if the Iphone is locked will iTunes will be able to restore the device.

Not sure since I've never forgotten my iPhone's passcode and doubtful I ever would - not unless I get hit on the head and suffer amnesia as a result.
