Unable to Burn - Verification Failed

I use Disk Utility to make multiple copies of a video DVD I have created. Maybe 50% of the time I get the message "Unable to Burn...Verification of the burn failed". This happens both when I use the internal drive or an external drive. However, whenever I check the DVD, it plays just fine. I am using Verbatim DVD-Rs.

Anyone have a sense of what the problem is?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.5), 3GB 24"

Try a different brand of disks. Verbatim ain't all that great

Just to close the loop on this, I think the problem was that I was trying to burn at too high of a speed. The max write speed for the burner was 20X, and it failed half the time when I tried to burn at that speed. However, when I backed off to 16X I had no problems and was able to burn 30 disks in a row.

Duh. I just noticed that the DVDs say 16X, which is why it worked consistently at that speed but not faster.
