deleting completed jobs
I want to delete some completed jobs but when I click on the jobs and then click delete, the jobs don’t disappear. What should I do? (I use an Epson Workforce 30 printer)

Although the question was solved, I left a message for someone named Kappy, explained my problem, and hoped that he could help me further. My problem is about deleting some (not all) completed jobs. When I follow Kappy’s solution, it doesn’t work. When I click on a specific completed job and want to delete it, nothing happens. What can I do?

Is there anything special about the completed jobs that you aren't able to delete? Were they from another user, maybe? Kappy's explanation is the one I would have suggested.

From my experience, I have never seen a way that you can delete only a particular job from the Completed Job List. Even the CUPS web interface ( http://localhost:631/printers) does not provide a method for deleting a completed job.
From reading the link to Kappy's reply, it appears that he was referring to when the job still appeared in the default printer queue view, not when you select Show Completed Jobs. However I have never experienced a job that is completed still displaying in this view, so this may have been a particular user issue.
Unless someone else does know of a method to delete an individual job, I believe the only option you have is to delete the entire list by resetting the printing system.

…or by just deleting that specific printer.

Your answers certainly helped me understand the use of CUPS in deleting completed jobs. I just was curious to see if a “particular job” could be deleted. However, if Pahu says that he has never seen a way to delete only a particular job, that answers my question. Also if as John suggested I should delete a specific printer, that also answers my question. Thanks to both of you.
