Changing Input method in Password Field…

I don't know if this was introduced in Safari 4.0.2, but I can't change the input method in password fields. When I click on the international input menu it grays out several of my options (U.S., Hiragana, Katakana). Keyboard shortcuts don't work to change it either. If I change the input method before entering the password field, it's changed back the minute I enter the field.

Anyone else seeing this problem? The only workaround I have right now is pasting in passwords or using Firefox…

Hi, I have the same problem, when I go to password field, my keyboard is changed to Slovak and I can't change it back to US (it's grayed out).. It's not happening on all pages, only some of them

it happened now also in adium, when i was adding new google talk account and wanted to enter password :/

me too.
this problem also manifests itself in terms of trackpad writing input: if you have trackpad writing enabled, each time a password field is selected the trackpad writing screen shows up.
