10.5.8 - Mozilla Thunderbird not running

After I updated from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8, I am blocked from using my Thunderbird email client:
"You cannot open the application “Thunderbird” because it is not supported on this architecture."
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?
