Recently Added Playlist JUST FOR IPOD

For some reason, I can't seem to keep a "Recently Added" Playlist on my new Nano iPod. I really like this playlist because you can easily find the newest songs you've added onto your device!

I attempted syncing the iTunes "Recently Added" smart playlist, but that syncs ALL the songs that have been recently added to iTunes - thus adding a bunch of music I didn't want on my iPod. I would like to restore JUST the iPod "Recently Added" playlist, but I don't know how to do that.

I see alot of people accidentally delete their iTunes Playlist, but I haven't. It's still there. I have, however, deleted the iTunes one. Any thoughts on how to restore?

The last sentence should read the I have NOT deleted the iTunes "Recently Added" playlist - JUST the iPod one!

What? You didn't delete it but you did delete it?

Sorry - that was what my correction/addendum post had clarified.

I meant to say that I have read many posts about people deleting their iTunes Recently Added Playlist. I haven't deleted the playlist from iTunes - just from my iPod.

How do I restore a Recently Added Playlist to the iPod. I still have my iTunes one, but I can't just check for the iPod to sync that one because it will attempt to load songs onto my Nano that are, indeed, Recently Added to iTunes, but I do not want on my iPod.

I used to have a Recently Added playlist on the iPod that let easily find the newest songs that were added just to my iPod.

Any help in this area?

Create a regular playlist with all the songs you want on your iPod called iPod playlist or whatever.
Create a smart playlist as follows;
Match rule;
Playlist is iPod playlist
Limit to xx items/size (whatever) by most recently added.

Select the iPod in iTunes and click the Music tab.
Tick Sync music and pick Selected playlists in teh drop down.
Tick these two playlists then sync the iPod.
