Wrong icons on apps

After buying two apps, and adding two "Lite" apps, I later deleted the Lite apps, and now their icons have replaced the icons for the purchased ones.

So I have two apps that work just fine, but they have the wrong icons on them.

I've rebooted and sync'ed, neither fixed the problem.

So... what do I do? Should I delete the problem apps? If so, how do I get iTunes to reinstall them? In the past, deleting apps on the phone only instructs iTunes not to reinstall them...

Or do I have to do a full restore? Bummer 😟

G5 Dual 2.0, Mac OS X (10.5.7), 2.5 GB RAM

I've been having this exact same problem. For some reason the apps are showing the wrong icons after they install. While they are installing they are correct, but once they install they chose a random icon I had or have on my iPhone. Rebooting didn't help. What should I do? 😟

Same problem, I did a restore. The problem seems to go away but it came back again today. Really dissappointed with iPhone. Mac don't live up to it's name anymore.

Hey i had this same problem and found an easy fix, just click the on the ipod as it appears in itunes, and restore it from back up! I did it three times... and well third times a charm because it fixed it!

I learned how to fix this on the MacOSX Support boards:

1) Delete the app(s) on the iphone, then connect it for syncing

2) In iTunes, select the iPhone in the left-hand column, then go to the Applications tab and recheck the deleted app(s)

3) Click "Apply"

You may need to sync yet again; I didn't have to as I was able to clicked "Apply" before the syncing routine reached the part when apps are installed

I wish this did do the trick...for more than just a day or so. It used to be that this would happen once in a while to me, but now it is a constant problem. For some reason my SplashID icon seems to be a frequent offender.

Similar problem here. Two apps I purchased and installed today through iTunes' App Store ("Units Conversion Wizard" a.k.a. "Unit Convert" and "Currency Converter Pro" a.k.a. "Currencies") took the icons of two previously installed, completely unrelated apps ("Eniro" and "Facebook", respectively), only with a slight twist: the two "copied" icons are grey. I am no longer sure, but I may actually have installed both the two earlier apps through the iPhone's App Store, not through iTunes.
No "light" versions of any apps are involved.
All four apps seem to otherwise operate normally.

After deleting and reinstalling the two new apps a few times, I got "Unit Convert" to revert to its own icon. This only lasted a short while, though.
"Currencies" however still persisted in having a grey "Facebook" icon after several attempts at deleting and reinstalling.

What I did then was delete all four apps, then hard reset the device, then reinstall "Unit Convert" and "Currencies", then hard reset a second time, intending only then to reinstall "Eniro" and "Facebook".
However, while both "Unit Convert" and "Currencies" had their proper icons after I'd reinstalled them, both had reverted to the improper, grey icons after the second hard reset - and N.B. that this was when the apps they "borrowed" their icons from weren't even installed on the device!

I then attempted the same procedure only without the second hard reset. After this operation, all four apps have their proper icons, at least for now.

Let's see how long that lasts...

IMHO the iphone is too nice a consumer product to have a glitch like this for long. Really takes away from the user experience. I should try the hard reset next time rather than resorting as quickly to a full restore as I have.
