Q: us keyboard vs uk keyboard

Main differences are @ vs. " on the 2 key, # vs £ on the 3 key, shape of return/enter key.

Correct. If I change System Preferences > International > Input menu to British, then press Shift-3, a £ results. When set to US, a # results. But, note that for most of those, there's an option key shortcut. So, when set to the US layout, Option-3 gives a £.

You can go to System Preferences > International > Input menu, check the box for Keyboard Viewer, then click the flag in the menu bar, select Show Keyboard Viewer, and press the option key, shift-option, etc., to see what shortcuts/symbols are available.

I'm thinking about buying a MacBookPro and have the same question about keyboard layouts and what the difference is between:
- Dutch
- International English(?)
- US
