Is there a shortcut to call a pager from the iphone?

About 10 years ago on my old cell phone, I remember being able to have a string of numbers as a contact that with the touch of a button the phone would call a pager, wait for a beep, then input my number, then end the call. In essence I could hit a button or contact number and set the phone down and my call back number would get sent to a pager. Can the iphone do this? I can't quite remember what it was, something like xxx-xxx(pager number) # 0r * xxx-xxxx (call back number)# or * . It was some long string of numbers. Can anyone help? Thanks for your time in advance.

Thanks for your guidance - I figured it out.
When you edit a phone number the bottom left of the screen shows "+*#", press that button and you get those three keys, but the bottom middle button becomes"pause".
If you add a "pause" to your number a comma will show up.
I entered the pager number, added two pauses, then inputed my number.
It works great except you do have to end the call manually when it is done.
