Quicktime update broke Divx!!!!

The new Quicktime update (7.0.2) has killed the audio portion of a Divx file. On 2 Macs, the Divx file plays correctly (sound & video), after the update the video portion is fine, but the audio comes in and out is garbled. I have re installed Divx, repair permissions, etc.. Nothing seems to work. I need to bring these Divx files into iMovie for work. Please help!!!

Has DivX released the Tiger compatible version yet? I know it (the Tiger compatible codec) is in the new Toast 7 but might not be for QT 7.0.X

you can download the Divx beta until the final is released. the next mac os x divx is going to be called Fusion. check it out: http://labs.divx.com/archives/000058.html

Does this movie use AC3 audio? If so, this audio plug-in seems to have been broken by 7.0.2

It was working in 7.0 and 7.0.1. It just started bugging out after installing 7.0.2

I presume by saying this you say this will resolve the breakage of the Divx codec by the update to QuickTime 7.0.2. I tried this and didn't have a positive outcome. Could you or someone else offer some more detail and could you or someone say whether doing what you said resolved this issue?

While the file is open in QuickTime, select Get Info from the menu, and the video and audio types should be listed.

The file type is Divx AVI. The format is, "Generic MPEG-4, 320x240, Millions MPEG, Mono, 44.100 kHz".

At the time of the release of the Divx Fusion Codec for Mac, July 11, 2005, I would imagine it worked with MacOS X 10.4 and QuickTime 7. I believe with the advent of QuickTime 7.0.2 the beta release no longer works with QuickTime 7. If you feel and have experienced otherwise I would appreciate hearing about it!

Indeed. I emailed the developer. I suggest you do the same. He hasn't been working on it for about a year now.

Everything is working on my system (save the AC3 codec). Please note that DivX 5 is incompatible with QT 7 and Tiger.
