Sometimes QT PLAYBAR ONLY in webpage... no movie

I am posting this to both the QuickTime and Safari discussion groups.

HERE IS AN IMAGE OF THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING

My web site has QuickTime movies embedded in web pages. Some in "normal" pages, some in a frames context.

On my OS9 & OSX Panther machines (both running QT6.5.2), in both Safari (1.3.1) and IE-5, the movies load normally. i.e. Progressive download, fast start, I see the first frame while the loading to cache is occurring, etc.

But on my Tiger (10.4.2) machine running Safari (2.0.1) and QuickTime 7.0.2, I frequently (maybe 30% of the time) get only the QT play bar appearing as the movie loads. I mean just the silver playbar, centered in the movie embed area, high up in the space, centered vertically. If I "reload" the page a few times, things usually return to normal, with the entire movie showing in the embed area and the playbar back down where it belongs at the bottom of the embed area.

Sorry, but I can't say that I can remember if this happened with the previous version of Safari (1.3.1).

I'm not positive, but I think this problem is occurring more with my "frames" web pages than with my "normal" pages. But that might just be a red herring.

The web page example I used for the screenshots above is "Gory Greek Gods", the movie is called "ZEUS DINES".

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Victor
