Quicktime Error -5000

QuickTime 7.0.2 Pro and iTunes 5.
OS10.3.9

When trying to watch a movie trailer at the Quicktime-iTunes site I am unable to view the movie and have a darkened Quicktime logo with a question mark inside it.
If I launch Quicktime it just sits there loading and I get an error message that looks like this:

QuickTime cannot open the URL: "content_guide.mov"
an unknown error occurred (-5000)

Can anyone help?

TIA

Open the QuickTime Player and then Command-, (comma key). This will open the QT Player preferences.
Under "General" remove the check mark for "Show Content Guide automatically".
The QT question mark issue is sometimes caused by a plug-in error. Try this:
Open the HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder. Drag the one named QuickTime Plugin.webplugin to your Desktop (in case you wish to put it back).
Relaunch your browser for these changes to take effect. Try the link again.

This unfortunatly didn't work as far as being able to view QT movies and video.
