MS2 save slow, that plus Autosave = intermittent hangs (is my theory)

When I save my concert w/ 15 patches it takes 17 seconds which is annoying, but isn't such a big deal. The problem is I have about the same delay around once an hour (very rough guess) which is a big deal. I see on the MS2 product page apple say that it has autosave, this makes me think that every now and then this horrible save process happens if I change something (or even if I don't?). This is unacceptable. When the save is happening my CPU goes to 100% (it hovers around 30-50 in normal conditions w/ MS2. I see a couple mentions in the group of save being slow, but haven't found any solutions, can anybody else confirm this, or better yet offer some ideas? I hope this save issue is simply a bug that will get fixed in an update. I would like to disable autosave for now at least until save speeds up, but I can't find where to do it, any ideas there?

I have an aluminum 2.4Ghz Macbook (one generation previous, before they started calling them macbook pros) w/ 4G ram

I'm going to test this theory at practice today by watching the dirty icon (top left close button gets a dot in it when the document is dirty) and make sure my concert isn't dirty as I'm playing. Hopefully autosave doesn't run when the document isn't dirty (comeon, this is Apple, they're that smart right?) so if I don't get any crashes today that'll help support my theory.

Another thing to support my theory:
Sometimes I've had this same delay when switching to Perform. I've just noticed that it only has this delay switching to perform when the document is dirty. Perhaps they do an autosave when switching to the perform mode (not a bad idea) but in my case it messes me up... I just gotta be careful not to make my document dirty I think for now until a better solution is found, ideally just not taking 17 freaking seconds to save.

Auto-save happens every 300 seconds.

To disable it, you can set the time to 0 seconds, just enter the following line in Terminal.app:
defaults write com.apple.mainstage autosavingDelay -float 0

To reset it, enter this:
defaults delete com.apple.mainstage autosavingDelay

Okay so at practice things worked great as long as I could keep the document from getting dirty as I predicted with my theory above, but the document kept getting dirty for unknown reasons which caused me to have to drop out twice while playing. I'll disable the autosave for now and leave feedback as suggested outlining what I've seen.

btw: I used the word "crashes" above in one of my comments, to clarify: there's no crashing, just hanging for ~17 seconds

Just an update. I've been trading some emails w/ someone from Apple in response to my feedback. I've provided a simple reproduction and it seems they're looking into the issue. I narrowed it down to an issue between Komplete and MS2. Komplete makes MS2 save slow, but not MS1. So it could be a strange issue w/ Komplete, or MS2, but either way looks like someone from Apple is looking at it.
