Hi. I have setup the DVD Player application to start in full screen when a DVD is inserted. Can I also somehow have control over my DVD playback using the Apple Remote I purchased? Or will I have to use some other third-party application that is compatible with the Apple Remote?
Mac Mini,
Mac OS X (10.5),
2 GHZ Processor, 2GB Ram, 320GB Hd
Hmm, well I pressed the Play/Pause button while DVD Player was playing the DVD, but no response. And when I pressed the Menu button PLEX was launched. I wonder if I have somehow overwritten the default settings. Any suggestions?
In DVD Player the Remote controls audio volume as well as skip forward & skip back, fast forward & fast back, pause & play. Pressing Menu launches Front Row. All default behavior for Mac OS X Leo. Perhaps installing this PLEX app has changed some things?! Dah•veed
When you install Plex, by default it takes over various functions from DVD Player and Front Row, including input from the Apple remote. Since Plex is intended to replace Apple's media players, it conflicts with them.
