Cannot Send Mail The sender address was invalid.

I have Comcast as my ISP. I keep getting the above message after composing email(s) to send. Sometimes it'll send them the next day after receiving that message for an entire day. Info follows:
host=smtp.comcast.net
user=optional
password=optional
use ssl=off
authentication=password
server port=587

why does this keep happening off and on?

These are the settings that you need to use for Comcast.

host name=smtp.comcast.net
user=must enter your username, the part before the @ in your email address
password=you must use your comcast password, the one you use to retrieve your mail.
use ssl=ON, this must be on for you to access the server
authentication=password
server port=465. this is the one that I use, and believe that is what I got from Comcast. However, when you enter the information and the iPhone does a test, it will set the correct port.

Try that and see what happens. I've been using Comcast since before I got the phone and I've had no trouble whatsoever.
