Upgraded to 3.0.1 and now all contacts are gone

Hi i just upgraded to OS 3.0.1 today like 10 minutes ago. when it was upgrading an error popped saying the iphone was in restore mode and needed to restore. So i restored and the screen came up asking me which backup i wanted to restore it to and i chose one and it did its thing. when it was all done backing up and syncing i unplugged it and went to make sure that everything was on there. well all my applications that i want on there are there but all my contacts are gone, all the pictures and video ive taken with the phone are gone also. there is not one contact in my phonebook. i have never had a problem upgrading my phone to newer OS. Please help! I am supposed to be going away on vacation tomorrow morning and it wouldnt be good not having anyones phone numbers while i am away.....
