Any alternate MP3 player for the iPhone?

Are there any? Has Apple blocked these from the store?

I don't like the UI of the iPod on the iPhone 3GS, with that tiny progress meter at the top of the screen, that you have to carefully move your finger on to skip through the song.

I don't know why Apple did not implement the circular ring like interface found on the lesser iPods. I like the way one can feather forward and back, while listening to the audio squealing by with the circular ring. Apple could have implemented it in software on the iPhone screen. Heck, there are copycat programs for other phones that try to copy that UI. Apple owns that UI, so they don't have any copyright issues.

i for one absolutely hated the iPod controls. you couldn't just pick it up and use it like i could with the dozens of mp3 players that i have used over the last 10+ years. nothing against apple or iPods or anything like that, i just couldn't use it. if the iPhone made you use that kind of interface, i would have not purchased an iPhone, which would suck cause i love it. it's a great phone.

doesn't anyone know of the greater fine tuned controls of the iPod app in the iPhone? i discovered it on accident, and think it's awesome. to use them, press your finger on the little ball thingie, and then move your finger down the screen. you're given different options for what kind of 'scrubbing' you are doing. you can do full scrubbing, 1/2 scrubbing, 1/4 scrubbing, etc, and each one changes the amount of fast forward/rewinding that you are doing while moving your finger.

it's a little hard to describe, so check this out: http://tippopotamus.blogspot.com/2009/06/iphone-os-30-audio-and-video-scrubbing. html
