Earphones with Remote and Mic s/n for replacement

Hi, does anyone know where is the S/n in Earphones with Remote and Mic? I got mine 2 months ago, and yesterday when I was listening to music, the right side suddenly decided not to work. I want to get a replacement for it. but the online DIY services require to get the s/n. wonder if anyone know how... let me know thanks. (this earphone did not come with my ipod touch 2nd gen.)

Please post a helpful, useful reply. Simply stating that you had your headphones replaced without explaining how you did it is not helpful.

I need the serial number off the headset (as does the original poster) in order to proceed in the Online Service Assistant for a defective headset. Clicking on the link for "finding your serial number" brings up a page that does not include instructions for headsets.

What number should be entered in the "serial number" field in the Online Service Assistant?

Hi, the same thing happened to me - the right side of the in-ear headphones suddenly stopped working (purchased in Dec 08). And as you said the In-Ear Headphones have no serial number so I also couldn't use the online service assistant. Instead I called the technical support for the iPod/iPhone (unfortunately there's no number for ipod accessories) and told them the whole story. They are sending me now a replacement via UPS and I simply have to give the old ones back within 10 days or directly to the UPS guys who deliver the new ones.

Tip: Mention from the beginning that you _purchased the headphones separately_ otherwise they will forward you to 2nd level iPod/iPhone support and they can't help you (and that takes hours...). Also don't let them forward you to the Apple Store number, because they only replace parts within 14 days and have nothing to do with the warranty of the headphones (as far as I know/experienced it). By the way later you will receive a mail (regarding the exchange) where they call the headphones a "NON-SERIALIZED PRODUCT" and they will get a "fake(?)" serial number.

This is how it worked here in Germany. Hope it helps a little.
Best regards,
Alex
