Flash plugin for Safari?

I have seen many youtube videos saying you can download and install a Flash plugin to allow you to play flash on any websites in the Safari browser (not youtube but actual websites that use flash). Is installing this Flash plugin going to cause any problems? And if it really works why did Apple not install it from the factory? Has anyone here got it to work?

Thank you for any help answering my question.

You cannot install anything from the web. You can only install programs from itunes store.

Adobe does not make a flash player for iphone. This is one of the most discussed topics on this forum.

You can do a forum search (right side of this page) and find this asked and answered countless times.

Thank you for the replies so far. I did do a search on this but couldn't find any positive results. Yes I am researching Safari on the iphone and not mac. The youtube videos I have seen explaining this refers to something called Cydia. What is cydia?

You all have to bear with me because I am new to Apple and am finding out as much information as possible before I get my 3GS later this week on Thursday. My gf has just bought the ipod touch and it's amazing.

Thanks again for your help.

Cydia is an app to "jailbreak " your iphone . It will also void your warranty and can lock up your iphone when you update the firmware with new releases like 3.1.0 , 3.2.0 , 4.0 . I would not suggest you use it . Many have but you wont get the same quality apps and many are unstable to use . Keep your iphone original .

There is a plugin for this but you will have to jailbreak your phone which as explain before its not recommended. This plugin was install in my brothers iPhone and I should say it did not make any difference. Most of those news videos that were supposed to work did not. In conclusion and in my personal opinion this plugin does not do anything. Besides, Jail-breaking your phone could cause unstable functionality and slows it dow notably specially when booting up.
I would avoid doing this, I don't think it's worth it.
