I tried to connect iTunes to a remote NAS server, which always functioned without any problems. But now iTunes alerts me that the shared media library doesn't react (-3260) and that I should check if port 3689 is open.

How can I open it?

Thanks a lot

    Hello Peter R.

This Apple support document explains how to open ports for the Apple TV, but just apply it using port 3689 for iTunes. Check it out. Hope it helps.

    Sorry about that.

Head to System Preferences -> Security -> Firewall tab. Then make sure "Set access for specific services and applications" is the selected option. Then click the add button, and choose iTunes from the list. Also, make sure it is set to "allow incoming connections."

    See if that helps.

Any chance that the server is blocking that port, not your Mac?
