Iphone to Car Stereo. FM best choice?

I've went through 5 FM transmitters, and I've been disappointed by every single one. Today I bought a belkin one and it plays that hum sound over the speakers (like when your phone is about to get a text) and thats when it actually works for a minute.

Does anyone have any good recommendations of an FM transmitter that just works?

A mount + charger would be great.
absolutely no batteries please. 🙂

Try this - i've been using it and its been a great piece of kit. Sound quality is pretty good considering its an FM transmitter and i've not had to re-scan too ofter (did a 240mile round trip without having to re-scan). It also lowers the music when a call is recieved and automatically increasing the volume again when the call is done.

Connects to the 12v outlet and charges your iPhone on the go.

You do need to watch for echo when in a call though (the person on the other end experiences it) and it can be sorted by reducing the volume on the car stereo (included in the manual).

if you are getting the static sound through your speakers, like when a call is about to come through, thats the phone...if the equipment in your car stereo is not shielded properly, you will get that noise, no matter what you do. if this is in your budget, you may want to get an aftermarket stereo that is iPod ready/has the AUX. a decent one can run you about $200...or if your system is bluetooth capable and you get the adaptor(about $200). you can do music through bluetooth with the 3Gs...i use it, sounds pretty good and my phone is far enough away from the equipment so i dont get that static interference

Well sounds like the poster is talking about the GSM noise. Yes FM quality isn't the best but the noise he is talking about is the interference one gets from any GSM phone.

Griffin has one that is "Made for iPhone" One cannot get the official "Made for iPhone" stamp if it gets interference. I have not tried the one from them, but I do have one from them that was made for iPod. It just jacks into the headphone jack and not the docking port. You will get more interference from one not made for iPhone that connects to the docking port. For the one I have, I only get the interference when getting txt, checking email, getting a call (all as expected) and during a tower handoff (gets worse in a city with tall buildings).

But long rides on interstate, really don't get anything (unless something comes to the phone).

Have wanted to get the one made for iPhone but haven't yet.
