Adobe trials don't have any limitations and they fully work for 30 days
Not sure if Version 3 will still open Cool Edit pro projects...maybe you look for an earlier version.
Adobe Audition is Win only.
I'm reasonably sure that the audio files are not embedded into the CoolEdit file (like Prop's Record). So if you have CE, but no audio, there really isn't anything for CE to open anyways, except for channel settings and whatnot. I have an old copy of Cool Edit Pro (not
2 I don't think) and it doesn't use a one file contains all approach.
So the audio very well may exist in your project folder as .wav or .aif files that could be imported to a Logic session. You might have to 'line things up' - but it may be worth it if the performances can't be recreated.
Maybe if you try exporting each file from beginning to end of the project-session -multitrack something (can't remember how it is called in CEP2) and create a new project and add the files in Logic?
The problem is that I put the Cool Edit Pro projects on my flash drive when i was in Haiti last week and so it's too late to save them in a particular way. Thanks anyway.
