Has anyone else had this problem? I've noticed that when using wifi on my macbook it is significantly slower than on my wired PC. As I'm typing this I am updating safari and its downloaded .1 megabytes in the last 5 minutes. My internet connection is slower but it shouldn't be this slow. Is this a hardware related problem with my macbook or something else?
MacBook Pro 13" (Mid 2009),
Mac OS X (10.5.8),
2.26 GHz, 2GB Memory, 160 GB HD
If there is an update for your MacBook Pro, if you go to Apple Menu, Software Update, it will tell you which updates are available. I just checked mine and this update appears to be available for it. Though I was not and am not having any wifi issues with it being slow. I am connecting through a Airport Extreme, which seems to fly!
Try connecting your laptop via ethernet to your switch if your wireless router has one and turn off the air port. Check to see if the speeds then increase.
Another option is to connect to a differnt wireless network with a faster connection and see if you have the same issues on it.
