Error Message 2755 w Quicktime itunes install

HI,

I have itunes version 6 and quicktime 7.3.1 on an HP PC running Windows XP Pro SP2 I wanted to download some things from NPR.com and the site seems to think I do NOT have itunes or quicktime. So it sends me to the download pages.

When I try to download itunes and quicktime together, I get an error message that says "The installation of quicktime did not complete successfully. itunes requires quicktime " (no error code)

When I tried installing JUST quicktime i get the message "the installer has encountered an unexpected error - this may indicate a problem with the package - The error code is 2755.

Any advice is most gratefully appreciated. Thanks!

Windows uninstaller : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Make sure your media is backed up to someplace safe and that you have all your account info, then go nuke your iTunes install.
*You have to get everything* and yes this will cost you your play list, counts, etc.
Empty the recycle bin and dump any temp files.

Now download a fresh copy of iTunes and install from that download.
